While not being known around the world for their meals, there is no doubting that Wales has some of the best and unique food throughout Great Britain. Welsh cuisine has been passed down through families for centuries, transmitting their recipes through oral tradition from the Middle Ages, all the way to the modern day.
While the Welsh originally lived on a diet comprised mainly from oats and milk, over the years some of the finest food has come out of Cymru. Welsh lamb is renowned as some of the finest across the globe, while traditional dishes like cawl, rarebit and bara brith are some of the best (and most delicious) traditional welsh foods – and who can forget about Welsh cakes!
